Trump Shocks the World: ‘Ukraine May Not Survive’ War with Russia Even with US Support

US President Donald Trump has caused a stir with his latest comments, suggesting that Ukraine may not survive its war with Russia, even with continued American support.

During a press interaction on Monday, Trump was questioned about his decision to pause military aid to Ukraine amid its ongoing battle with Russia. Asked whether he was “comfortable” with the possibility of Ukraine falling into Russian hands, Trump gave a blunt response: “Well, it may not survive anyway.”

His comments came after Polish President Andrzej Duda’s warning that without American backing, Ukraine would not stand a chance against Russia’s advances. Trump added that the situation was complex, stating, “It takes two.”

These remarks follow a tense meeting between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in the White House on February 28. The exchange, labelled by many as an “ambush,” descended into chaos in front of the world’s media, leaving questions about the future of US-Ukraine relations.

In the wake of these comments, Ukrainian President Zelenskyy is set to visit Saudi Arabia on Monday to meet with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to discuss the ongoing conflict. Ukrainian officials will also meet with a US delegation on Tuesday to further assess military and diplomatic support.

Trump’s comments come at a time when tensions are rising between the US and its North American neighbours, Mexico and Canada, due to ongoing trade disputes. Former Bank of England Governor Mark Carney, who recently became the new Prime Minister of Canada, has already warned the US that retaliatory tariffs will remain until the US shows “respect” for Canada.

As the situation in Ukraine continues to unfold, Trump’s statements have raised concerns about the future of US involvement and the broader geopolitical implications.
