Teenager Stabbed to Death in Shepherd’s Bush: Murder Investigation Underway

A murder investigation is underway following the fatal stabbing of a teenage boy in Shepherd’s Bush on Saturday, 5 April. Detectives from the Metropolitan Police have made two arrests in connection with the incident, which occurred around 13:10hrs on Erconwald Street, near the junction with Du Cane Road and Old Oak Common Lane.

When emergency services arrived at the scene, they found two teenage boys suffering from stab wounds. Despite the best efforts of paramedics and officers, one of the teens was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. The victim has been identified as 17-year-old Keiron Charles, from East Acton. His family is being supported by officers during this devastating time.

The second teenager, aged 16, was rushed to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. After receiving treatment, he was discharged and subsequently arrested on suspicion of murder. He remains in police custody.

A third teenager, also aged 16, fled the scene before police arrived. Following an urgent investigation, he was arrested in the early hours of Sunday, 6 April, on suspicion of murder. He is also being held in custody.

Detective Chief Inspector Alex Gammampila, who is leading the investigation, expressed his condolences to Keiron’s family: “This is an awful incident in which a teenager has lost his life. Our thoughts are with Keiron’s family and loved ones as they try to come to terms with their tragic loss. We have made two arrests as part of our early inquiries, and while we continue to gather evidence, we are not looking for anyone else at this stage.”

The police are calling on anyone who may have witnessed the incident between 1pm and 1:20pm on Saturday to come forward. “Keiron had his whole life ahead of him, and any information could be crucial in helping us achieve justice for his family,” DCI Gammampila said.

Officers are urging anyone with relevant footage, whether from CCTV, dashcams, or mobile phones, to contact the police or Crimestoppers as soon as possible. Even small details could help detectives in their search for answers.
