Ukraine Reports 144 Combat Clashes in One Day, with Intense Fighting on Pokrovsk Front

Ukraine’s Armed Forces have reported a significant escalation in hostilities along the front lines, with 144 combat clashes recorded in the past 24 hours. According to a statement released by the General Staff on Wednesday morning, more than a third of these engagements took place on the increasingly volatile Pokrovsk front.

In its morning update, the General Staff said Russian forces had launched widespread attacks across multiple fronts, including 90 airstrikes, the use of 144 guided aerial bombs, and the deployment of nearly 2,500 kamikaze drones. A further 5,291 artillery strikes were reported, including 114 salvos from multiple-launch rocket systems.

Pokrovsk Front Sees Heaviest Fighting

The fiercest combat was recorded in the Pokrovsk sector, where Ukrainian troops repelled 54 separate Russian assault operations. Clashes were reported in and around the settlements of Yablunivka, Zoria, Shevchenko Pershe, Nova Poltavka, Myroliubivka, Yelyzavetivka, Lysivka, Dachenske, Kotlyne, Novoserhiivka, Udachne, Troitske, Promin, Kotliarivka, and Andriivka, as well as towards Popiv Yar and Novomykolaivka.

Active Engagements Across the Front

Elsewhere, Russian troops launched smaller-scale attacks on multiple fronts:

  • Kharkiv front: Six attempted advances were recorded near Vovchansk, Kamianka, and Mala Shapkivka.
  • Kupiansk front: Four attacks were repelled near Kindrashivka, Zahryzove, and Nova Kruhliakivka.
  • Lyman front: Seventeen engagements occurred near Ridkodub, Hrekivka, Zelena Dolyna, Novoserhiivka, Olhivka, Novyi Myr, and in the Serebrianka Forest.
  • Siversk front: Two attacks were recorded near Bilohorivka.
  • Kramatorsk front: Three engagements were reported near Chasiv Yar and Predtechyne.
  • Toretsk front: Ukrainian forces repelled 16 attacks near Dyliivka, Druzhba, and Toretsk.
  • Novopavlivka front: Nineteen clashes were reported near Bahatyr, Odradne, Shevchenko, Vesele, Rivnopil, Novopil, Zelene Pole, and Vilne Pole.
  • Huliaipole front: Three attempts to advance were made near Vysoke.
  • Orikhiv front: Four assaults were repelled near Shcherbaky, Stepove, and Pavlivka.
  • Prydniprovske front: One Russian advance was unsuccessful.

Limited Activity in Northern Sectors

The General Staff reported no signs of offensive groupings forming on the Volyn and Polissia fronts. However, cross-border activity continued in Russia’s Kursk Oblast, where Ukrainian forces recorded five hostile assaults. Russian troops also conducted 17 airstrikes, dropped 34 guided bombs, and launched 191 artillery strikes, including nine from multiple-launch rocket systems.

Ukrainian Forces Respond

In response, Ukraine’s Rocket Forces and Artillery targeted key Russian positions. Strikes were reported on 12 locations where enemy personnel, equipment and weapons were concentrated, along with three command posts, an air defence asset, five artillery systems, and two additional high-value targets.

Military officials said the strikes were part of ongoing efforts to disrupt Russian logistics and command infrastructure, while maintaining defensive lines under considerable pressure.

Ongoing Concerns

The sharp rise in combat activity has raised further concerns among international observers about the potential for broader escalation, particularly in eastern Ukraine, where infrastructure and civilian populations continue to bear the brunt of the conflict.

The situation remains fluid, with Ukrainian forces reportedly reinforcing key sectors while continuing to assess Russia’s operational intent across the front.
