Intense Clashes on the Pokrovsk Front as Ukraine Repels Russian Attacks

Ukrainian and Russian forces have clashed 146 times in the past 24 hours, with the fiercest fighting occurring on the Pokrovsk, Lyman and Kursk fronts.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russian forces launched 103 airstrikes on Ukrainian positions and populated areas on 13 March, dropping 154 guided aerial bombs. In addition, over 6,000 rounds were fired, including 166 attacks from multiple-launch rocket systems, and 2,509 kamikaze drones were deployed.

The most intense battles were fought on the Pokrovsk front, where Ukrainian forces repelled 49 Russian attacks across 13 settlements, including Yelyzavetivka, Promin, Lysivka, and Tarasivka.

On the Lyman front, Russian troops carried out 15 attacks in an attempt to advance near the settlements of Torske, Yampolivka, and Novomykhailivka. Meanwhile, on the Kursk front, Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled 22 Russian assaults, including 37 airstrikes, 54 guided bombs, and 203 artillery bombardments.

Other key locations of intense combat included:

  • Kharkiv Front: Russian forces attempted advances near Vovchansk, Krasne Pershe, and Doroshivka.
  • Kupiansk Front: Ukrainian forces repelled three Russian attacks near Holubivka, Zahryzove, and Bohuslavka.
  • Toretsk Front: Ukrainian troops withstood 14 Russian assaults near Toretsk, Krymske, and Druzhba.
  • Orikhiv Front: Twelve Russian attacks were repelled near Stepove, Piatykhatky, Kamianske, and in the vicinity of Novoandriivka and Mala Tokmachka.
  • Novopavlivka and Huliaipole Fronts: Ukrainian forces successfully defended against multiple Russian offensives.

There were no major offensive Russian formations reported on the Volyn and Polissia fronts, suggesting a focus on sustaining pressure rather than initiating new large-scale offensives.

The ongoing clashes highlight the continuing intensity of the conflict, with both sides engaging in heavy bombardments and attacks across multiple fronts. Ukraine’s defensive forces continue to show resilience in the face of repeated Russian offensives.
