Israel Intensifies Strikes Across Gaza as Ceasefire Talks Stall

Israel has ramped up its military operations across the Gaza Strip, launching a wave of air and ground assaults that struck over 100 targets in just 24 hours, as ceasefire negotiations with Hamas remain deadlocked.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed on Monday that the latest strikes targeted terrorist infrastructure and eliminated multiple operatives in a series of coordinated operations spanning several key areas of the enclave.

Backed by intelligence from the Shin Bet security service and Military Intelligence, Israeli troops under the IDF Southern Command conducted missions in Beit Hanoun, Jabaliya, Daraj Tuffah, Shejaiya, and Zeitoun, all known strongholds of Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad.

In northern Gaza, the Givati Brigade uncovered and destroyed weapons caches and underground tunnel systems in the Beit Hanoun area. Meanwhile, the 99th Division directed airstrikes that killed a terrorist cell allegedly attempting to plant explosives along strategic routes, the IDF said.

Further south in Jabaliya, soldiers from the 401st Brigade and the IDF’s Multi-Domain Unit engaged in close combat operations, killing armed operatives and demolishing key terror-linked infrastructure. According to the army, two gunmen were identified near Israeli positions and killed in a precision airstrike shortly after being spotted.

In Daraj Tuffah, the Nahal Brigade carried out an ongoing sweep to neutralise militant positions and dismantle terrorist networks, reportedly killing several operatives during engagements.

Operations also intensified in Shejaiya and Zeitoun, where the IDF’s 98th Division launched targeted attacks on Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad strongholds. The military said troops helped coordinate airstrikes on buildings and tunnels used by militants for planning and movement.

Over the past day, the Israeli Air Force struck more than 100 targets throughout Gaza, including weapons warehouses, underground passageways, and command centres used by terror groups, according to an IDF statement.

The escalation comes as efforts to broker a ceasefire have hit an impasse. Despite mounting international pressure for a truce, both sides remain entrenched, and Israel has signalled its intention to maintain military pressure on Hamas until its strategic objectives are met.
